Farewell Roma, O' mighty land
Whose great empires when at my hand
Slew many a vicious but worthy foe
And from their bodies did wildflowers grow
Land that poet's have sought to claim
Land before me which lies aflame
How is it that you can betray me, love?
Leaving my fate to the Gods above
Farewell Roma, city of joy
Your golden spires my death will destroy
Presenting me this exodus
Why must you leave me, your Julius?
